Teaser Trailers

A teaser trailer unlike a normal theatrical or television trailer; is usually short in length lasting between 30 seconds and 2 minutes, and is used to advertise an upcoming film.
Teaser trailers usually contain a small amount of footage from the film; some teaser trailers however do not actually contain any footage from the film it is advertising.
Teaser trailers are most commonly made during the film’s production using clips and scenes that may not make the final cut. However some production teams such as Pixar for example; make scenes especially for the teaser trailers.
These trailers are usually released within plenty of time before the film is released in cinemas, it sometimes can be up to one to one and a half years before. They call it a “teaser” trailer, as it teases the audience, giving them a small peek into a film that they will not see until the following year.
Finally a teaser trailers are usually created for big-budget and popularly themed films. Their purpose is to hint at the content of the film and to explain that the film will be coming in the near future; they are also created to add hype to the release.
Nowadays teaser trailers are mainly created to be promoted on the internet streamline, and are not often seen on the television.
